About Electrolysis

Electrolysis is the only F.D.A. approved method of permanent hair removal.  Unlike laser and light-based hair removal devices, it can be safely performed on any part of the body, can effectively treat light and dark hair and can be done on all skin types.

A treatment involves inserting a tiny, sterile probe into the hair follicle opening down into the dermal papilla. This papilla is the electrologist's target. It is the part of the follicle that feeds the growing hair. When the papilla and the surrounding cells are destroyed, the hair will die. When the probe is in place, a low-level electrical current is released (approx. 1/100th of a sec.)  Many hairs will be eliminated with only one treatment, but some may need two or more treatments to achieve permanency.

Electrolysis can be safely performed on all areas of the body. The most requested areas include:

For Women- chin, neck, upper and lower lip, cheeks, eyebrows, chest, breasts, bikini, abdomen, underarms, hands & feet and fingers and toes.

For Men- ears, nose, eyebrows, shoulders, back and chest.

Electrolysis is safe for all ages, including those who are pregnant.
